The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University in association with the Marine Technology Society, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Club, ZHCET, AMU (MTS AUV-ZHCET) conducted a “One-day workshop on Ocean Instrumentation and Observation Systems” at the Assembly Hall, ZHCET, Aligarh Muslim University on 7th October 2023. This was a G20 themed event under the sub-theme of “Green Development and Climate Change”.

A training session on "Understanding ROS - Ground Zero" was jointly organized by MTS AUV- ZHCET and TPO, ZHCET with the guest speaker Mr Thomas Kuruvila, Chief Robotics Engineer, Andromeda Maritime Solutions, New Delhi. Around 60-70 students joined the offline session held in the Assembly Hall, ZHCET. The session aimed to introduce the basics of ROS (Robot Operating System) to the participants and provide an understanding of its fundamental concepts.

AMUROV is a national-level student competition organised by Marine Technology Society, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Club MTS-AUV in collaboration with Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE AMU, established to generate and enhance a community of innovators capable of making substantive contributions to the remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs) domain. This was the second edition of the event.

MTS AUV-ZHCET organized a school science fair on the theme of renewable energy at Polytechnic, inviting students from grades 6-10 to participate either individually or in groups of five to showcase their innovative ideas based on the theme of renewable energy. The main objective of the fair was to encourage students to explore the concept of renewable energy and develop innovative ideas that could potentially solve energy-related problems.

MTS AUV-ZHCET hosted a contest that invited students in grades 6 through 8 to participate in a poster-making activity in which 45 students participated with great enthusiasm. The theme of the competition was to raise awareness about global warming, problems with plastic pollution, and water conservation. The students showcased their skills by making posters that convey powerful messages and ideas to tackle these pressing environmental issues.
